I hate running, but I love running Disney.

It’s hard to believe that in 43 or so days, I will run my fourth RunDisney race!

I started this crazy adventure cheering for my college roommate, Beth. A few years ago she decided to participate in a RunDisney race at Disneyland and asked our friends on Facebook for a cheerleader.

Beth is not a runner but challenged herself to set a goal and run in the Disney race.

She probably never expected me to come to California to cheer for her, or eventually run alongside her, but that’s just what happened.

Although I have now participated in probably 100 races locally, I still don’t consider myself a runner, and every time I participate in a race–and by participate I mean show up at the starting line and make it to the finish line, I feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment.

To some people that’s no big deal. For me, it’s everything.

Beth and I went to Disney World together for Spring Break one year in college.

It was a blast.

We have since returned to Disney as runners, cheerleaders for each other and together with our children. RunDisney is a semi-annual adventure for us–we love it and plan to participate until one of us can no longer walk.

We love preparing for the races and putting together running costumes.

Hanging out together and shopping at the race expo is my favorite part.

I’m looking forward to our next 10k. The upcoming Star Wars Half Marathon–Dark Side race will be our last Disney race of 2017, and our second race at Disney World. We’re staying on property at Disney, and I think it will give us more time to enjoy the parks, and make it easier to arrive at the starting line on race day.

To celebrate the successful completion of our first Star Wars race, and the impending success of our next race I’m co-hosting a giveaway for a $500.gif"text-align: center;">Enter now, and GOOD LUCK!

I’ll share more race updates in coming weeks.
